Prospective Buyers Optimistic About Homeownership

Though concerned about their personal finances and the broader economy, Americans overwhelmingly believe now is a good time to buy a home. According to a recent survey of current and aspiring homebuyers in key world markets, Americans are the most optimistic about homeownership, despite recent housing woes. Nearly two-thirds of participants said now is a good time to buy a home and, among first-time homebuyers, 87 percent said they expect to easily meet their mortgage payment obligations in the next year. The survey found that consumer confidence was the most important factor influencing the decision to buy a home. More here.
