Thirty-year, fixed-rate mortgages reached 3.35%, jumping .11% from last week. Additionally, fifteen-year fixed-rate mortgages increased to 2.8% from the previous week, ending January with a .10% elevation. Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac’s vice president and chief economist said, “mortgage rates continued to trend upwards this week amid a growing economy led in part by the recovering housing market.” Both the 5-year Treasury-indexed ARM and the 1-year Treasury-indexed ARM grew from last week to end January on a positive Note.
